Wisconsin Looks Great in Orange

Friend —

We did it again, Wisconsin! Our ever-growing movement to end gun violence painted the state orange on June 2 as part of National Gun Violence Awareness Day.

Wisconsinites from every corner of the state joined with people all across the country, and together, with one powerful voice, we declared: We can and we will end gun violence.

I hope you were able to follow along on social media as Wisconsin’s parents, teachers, doctors, artists, professional sports teams, elected officials, and more shared their support by wearing orange.

In fact, three of our state’s leaders in advocating for smart gun laws went even further, publishing a compelling op-ed in the Cap Times calling on us to celebrate National Gun Violence Awareness Day by standing up for commonsense gun safety legislation. I hope you will take a moment to read it now and then share it with your friends, family and loved ones.

And finally, I want to thank you personally for your support and commitment to gun violence prevention and to creating a safer Wisconsin, where our children can grow up without fear.

We truly couldn’t accomplish all that we have without generous, compassionate people like you standing with us. On behalf of all of us here at WAVE, thank you for all that you do.
